U.S. Senators Mike Enzi and Tom Harkin from Iowa praised the final passage of the Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act. The legislation ensures that the FDA can approve drugs and medical devices, save biomedical industry jobs, protect patient access to new therapies, and preserve America’s global leadership in biomedical innovation. Senator Enzi says that when both sides work together, they can get a lot accomplished.
The legislation, which was approved by the Senate by a vote of 92 to 4, now goes to President Obama for his signature.
