CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi has announced he will seek re-election. Wyoming's senior U.S. senator announced Tuesday that he intends to run next year. He says he intends to make another, formal announcement at a later date. Enzi, a former state legislator and mayor of Gillette, was first elected to the Senate in 1996.
Enzi has declined comment recently on speculation that Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, will run against him in next year's Republican primary. Enzi emphasized on Tuesday that he intends to concentrate on serving in the Senate until the campaign gets under way.
