Energy Officials: Obama Re-Election Means More of the Same

Representatives of Wyoming's energy industry say President Barack Obama's re-election won't change their business outlook much.

But, depending on the industry, they said, more of the same is not necessarily welcome news.

Bruce Hinchey, of the Petroleum Association of Wyoming, says the election was disappointing because it didn't go the way that would have most benefited the oil and gas industry.

Marion Loomis, of the Wyoming Mining Association, says the Obama administration's policies and proposals have been hard on the industries he represents.

But the Casper Star-Tribune reports not all energy-based industries were disappointed in the results of the election.

Sarah Propst, of the renewable energy trade association Energy Alliance, says that the president is likely the best hope for renewables, especially wind.
