The Sheridan Area Economic Development Task Force may have some of the same old names working toward a goal of economic expansion for Sheridan, but they'll all tell you this is the first time there has been this kind of combined effort.
The group has released their work plan, which includes using what Sheridan already has, defining specific expansion industry and then marketing those things to and through the Wyoming Business Council. City Public Works Director, Nic Bateson.
Those groups include the city and the county, the Chamber of Commerce, Forward Sheridan, the North Main Neighborhood Association, Downtown Sheridan Association, Sheridan College and the Wyoming Business Council.
Mayor Dave Kinskey said that such an organized effort is critical because when it comes to getting funds from the Business Council, they won't build a vision for you, it's important to have a clear vision mapped out for the community before going to them for support
