Members of the Kaycee/Buffalo/Johnson County Economic Development Joint Powers Board spoke to both the Buffalo City Council and Johnson County Commission at their last meetings, to give them an update on the organization, its goals and to gather support for an Economic Development Director.

Adam Teten, Chairman, and Bob Snowden, Vice-Chairman of the JPB, both gave reasons for going after a director for the organization, saying they now have an Economic Development Master Plan which has been completed by MCS Strategies. The next step for the organization is to hire someone that can implement the goals of the Master Plan.

Teten and Snowden explain further.

The JPB will be looking at hiring a director which they envision as a four-to-five year guaranteed position with benefits to attract a quality individual with the type of experience and training they need.

One of the projects they are currently working on is a feasibility study for possible uses of the old Clear Creek School Building should the city acquire it from the school district.
