The Good Friday storm lifted in time for the annual Easter Egg Eggstravaganza, held Saturday morning at Kendrick Park.
Sponsored by the Vertical Church and Sheridan Media, thousands of people from infants with no hair to elders with gray hair enjoyed inflatables, face painting, an obstacle course and other booths.
Of course, the main event were the four Easter Egg races, set up for different age divisions from one end of the park to the other.
A true community outreach for Vertical Church, something of this magnitude just doesn't happen overnight. Church member Bob Thompson explains what all had to be done.
Sisters, 7-year-old Alejandra with her big pink basket and 5-year-old Daniela with her big purple basket patiently waited for the races in their age categories. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson chatted with them while they waited.
Friends Skyleur and Payton, both age ten, sat down to compare their haul after their age group finished their race.
We'll have video of the 2011 Easter Egg Eggstravaganza posted a bit later this morning here on our sheridanmedia.com homepage.
