A Drilling Simulator Teaching Laboratory will be opening next fall at the University of Wyoming. Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Professor David Bagley says the laboratory will provide students and industry personnel with a full simulated experience of drilling oil reservoirs.
WPX Energy provided one-million dollars for the 1,300-square-foot laboratory. UW is purchasing 20 software license for drilling simulation software to run on computer stations.
