This month's display at the Sheridan College Main Street Gallery downtown features two artists with seemingly contrasting styles, but a common emphasis on light makes for a complimentary display. Pat Trout and Sonja Caywood are both accomplished local artists. Trout lays down the basics of the show.

The subjects of the paintings are just the beginning, though. Caywood uses an impressionistic style, using big brush strokes and even exaggeration to emphasize her subjects.

Trout goes for more accuracy and detail.

Despite conventional assumptions, Caywood agrees the works somehow suit each other.

Sheridanites can check out the display until the 28th of this month, and meet the artists Thursday from 5-7 at the Sheridan College Main Street Gallery.
