Sheridan County School District No. 1 board of trustees chairman Suzie Dow resigned last week. Dow served for five years, and her current term would have expired in 2014.
“I enjoyed my time with the district," she said Tuesday afternoon. Dow didn't say why she chose to resign.
District No. 1 Superintendent Marty Kobza explained board policy states that the position must be filled within 30 days of the vacancy.
Those interested can write a letter of interest through Board Secretary Brandi Miller. The board will then appoint an interested party or go through an interview process to make an appointment.
Policy also states that the appointee will serve for one year and then the position will go up for general election. It's an at-large position that covers the entire district.
The District No. 1 board is made up of Kristi Von Krosigk, Carol Garber, CT Baily and Johann Nield.
