Following a two-hour executive session Monday night at Big Horn High School, the Sheridan County School District 1 Board of Trustees accepted resignations from Big Horn coaches Bert Dow and Wayne Hall.
Dow and Hall each admitted to violating school policy. Though specifics of the incident have not been released by administrators, Dow and Hall admitted Monday night to playing a practical joke on two student-athletes earlier this year.
Each apologized to the board and to the public after superintendent Marty Kobza announced the resignations.
Dow spoke to the 30-some in attendance.
Dow directed his comments mostly to students and players at the meeting.
Hall reiterated Dow's comments, saying that the two coaches had violated school policy. He apologized first to the public and then to the board.
The resignations apply to all sports, as Hall will not return as head coach of Big Horn girls basketball. Dow will no longer coach JV basketball.
