Holiday stress and alcohol consumption seem to be the perfect combination for a rise in domestic violence cases during the holiday season, and while it would be easy to suspect that domestic violence cases may spike this time of year, the number of reported cases in Sheridan County remain about the same. Victim Advocate with the Advocacy and Resource Center in Sheridan Rhonda Weber.

Weber explains that although the number of reported cases remains steady, that doesn't necessarily mean that there aren't more incidents taking place than what's being reported.

Weber talks about a big factor that plays a part in domestic violence year round.

Weber said that victims or anyone that may know of a victim of domestic violence can contact the Advocacy and Resource Center anytime as they are available 24 hours a day, even on holidays. You can contact them at the main office at 672-7471, or the crisis hotline at 672-3222.
