The Sheridan County School District 2 Board of Trustees met for their regularly scheduled meeting Monday night and received an update on funding for a potential new Coffeen Elementary school.
Superintendent Craig Dougherty told the board that he will meet with Governor Matt Mead on January 25th to make their pitch for a new Coffeen.
The District received word in December that Mead's biennial budget would exclude projects 13-18 and 21 on the School Facilities Commission's priority list of capital construction projects, instead funding Natrona County school district projects. Coffeen Elementary is number 13 on the list.
Look for the full report from last night's District 2 meeting later today.
