41-year-old Joanne Isom was arraigned in 4th Judicial District Court Thursday. The college graduate with a BA in Business Administration is charged with Felony Domestic Battery for allegedly hitting her boyfriend, Fred Kinter, over the head with a glass vase and a chair in an incident that took place April 10th, 2010.
Isom has four previous domestic violence convictions, all in Washington State, and three of those were in the past ten years.
Isom plead “Not Guilty” to this charge, and Judge John Fenn set a trial date for October 13th, 2010. Her bond has been continued and she is to have no contact with Fred Kinter prior to trial. She was remanded back to jail after her arraignment. Public Defender Robert Jones is her attorney; Darci Arsene is representing the State.
If convicted, Isom faces a possible sentence of five years in prison, a fine of $2,000, or both.
Also in District Court Thursday, Robert Jones represented 41-year-old Daniel Jones (no relation) as he was arraigned on one Felony Count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. On April 1st, 2010, Daniel Jones was charged for not submitting written notice to the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office within three days of changing his address.
Daniel Jones plead “Not Guilty” to the charge, and a one-day trial has also been set for October 13th. Prosecutor Darci Arsene told Judge Fenn that Jones is currently undergoing treatment at WyStar, after which he is to return to the Sheridan County Detention Center until the scheduled trial date, unless he meets the terms of his Bond.
If convicted, Daniel Jones could face a sentence of up to ten years in prison, a fine of $1,000, or both.
