After their Executive Session Monday night, District 2 trustees voted to approve the salary and benefit increases for the 2010-2011 school year for both Certified and Classified staff.

For Certified staff, the base starting salary will remain at $44,500. Both vertical and horizontal movement on the salary schedule will be allowed.

In addition to any salary increases, the District will pay the full cost of Wyoming Retirement rates, which will increase from 11.25% to 14.12% in September. Also, the District will pay 100% of the single health insurance premium for full time employees and will continue to pay 75% of the premium for the 2-adult; adult/dependent; and family health insurance plans.

And other benefits for Certified staff include the District paying for life insurance, long-term disability insurance and worker's compensation for qualified employees.

For Classified staff, the base rate for all salary schedules will remain the same, with vertical movement allowed.

The benefits for Classified staff are the same as those for Certified. And effective July 1, 2010, the District's health insurance plan will change from a $500 deductible plan to a $1,000 deductible plan, with a $30 office co-pay.

Sheridan District 2 is 3rd highest in the state for average certified salaries; average certified salaries and benefit packages; and 30-year career earning power. The base salary of Sheridan District 2 for 2009-2010 ranks 10th in the state.
