At the February Sheridan County School District 2 Board of Directors meeting Monday night, Trustees honored Meadowlark Elementary School Principal Jason Hillman, who was recently named Wyoming's National Elementary Distinguished Principal of the Year.
Director of the District's Elementary Curriculum, Scott Stults, discussed Hillman's humble spirit, and his sharing of ideas not just with the Meadowlark community, but with schools district-wide.
The board also heard from Highland Park Principal Brent Leibach, who enthusiastically presented the positive attributes of the Pole Vault Projection system and the Safari Montage Network Video program. The system is also set up in Woodland Park, Story and Coffeen Elementary Schools, and will be installed in the new Meadowlark Elementary School.
The Board discussed the topic list for their upcoming retreat – some of the issues they'll cover include Chapter 29 implementation and other implications of new legislation; Board goals; and the graduation rate situation.
Action Items: the board approved several policies on first and second reading; and they officially authorized Business Manager Roxie Taft as the Chief Payroll Contact for the District.
