The Sheridan County District 2 Board of Trustees held a special noon meeting Tuesday to award bids on three summer maintenance project contracts.
The first bid awarded went to Delta Construction in the amount of $200,225 for Early Building pool upgrades and renovations. The project will include safety upgrades, including better organization of cabling and cording for swim meets; better seating so visitors won't slip or fall into the pool; replacement of doors, windows and hardware; installation of acoustical panels; and scoping out future ventilation projects.
The pool will not be emptied, as it is cost-prohibitive to empty the nearly 250,000 gallons of water, then to refill and treat new water.
The next bid awarded was to Dowl HKM to do material testing services for the construction of the new Meadowlark Elementary School. District 2 Facilities Director Julie Carroll says that there is not a set price yet on that contract.
And the third bid award went to Wright Brothers Construction of Sheridan in the amount of $918,273 for the Sheridan High School Wood Shop renovation, District Server Room upgrades and white board upgrades at Sagebrush Elementary School.
The SHS Wood Shop will undergo complete renovation, bringing it up to fire code. The server upgrades to the District will be moved to a self-contained box 25 feet from outside the high school building.
