Paige Fenton-Hughes

Tuesday and Wednesday, the third candidate in the running for the position of Superintendent of Sheridan County School District 1, Paige Fenton-Hughes of Lander, met with Trustees, faculty, staff and the public. Tuesday she visited the Tongue River side of the district; Wednesday she was in Big Horn, ending the day with a community forum at Big Horn High School.

Ms. Fenton-Hughes tells us why she applied for the position.

She candidly answered questions covering topics ranging from balancing her work with and presence in both sides of District 1; the importance of working with legislators; parent engagement; solving funding challenges for gifted and talented students; and bullying.

As for her personal value and education philosophy?

Now that the three finalists have met with District 1 administration, staff and the community, the District 1 Board of Trustees will meet tonight in Executive Session to deliberate over the results of the interviews and feedback.

While it is unexpected that they will be ready to make an announcement, Sheridan Media will update you as soon as their decision has been made public.
