The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Diabetes Dirt Duathlon is this Saturday,which benefits the local diabetes test strip assistance program that provides glucose meters and test strips to low income and uninsured residents with diabetes. The duathlon for adults consists of a 3 mile run, 10 mile bike and a 2 mile run. The kids event is a 1 mile run and 2 mile bike. Patty Bell Usher with Sheridan Memorial Hospital explains that participants don't necessarily have to do the whole course.
While it may be too late to preregister for the event, you can register prior to the duathlon from 7:15 am to 8 o'clock. The Diabetes Dirt Duathlon will take place Saturday at 8 am at the Forbes Ranch southwest of Sheridan off of County Road 72. More information on the event can be found by clicking here.
