In a media release issued late Friday afternoon, Wyoming Department of Family Services Director Tony Lewis announced that Chris Jones has been appointed Interim Superintendent of the Wyoming Girls School in Sheridan. Jones has worked at the Wyoming Girls School for the past eleven years, serving as the Education Director since 2004. Jones has a Master's Degree in Special Education, along with an Educational Leadership/Principal Endorsement.
The appointment of an Interim Superintendent comes after Clark Fairbanks tendered his resignation last week to take a job in Gillette. DFS announced that the selection process for a permanent Superintendent would begin following consultation with Governor-Elect Matt Mead's transition team.
