The Wyoming Department of Health has released a plan to compensate for budget cuts, as mandated by legislative action.
The Wyoming Legislature directed the WDH to cut spending by 4 percent for Fiscal Year 2013 and 8 percent by the 2015-2016 year. That means that the department will be functioning on $19 million less by next year, and $74 million by 2015. Roughly 90 percent of the health department’s budget goes toward patient care, including Medicaid, healthcare facilities, and mental health and substance abuse prevention programs.
The entire proposed budget is a available for review on the Department of Health’s website.
