The deadline is looming for hunters interested in acquiring a license to hunt moose, bighorn sheep, wild bison and mountain goat.
Applications must be submitted to the Wyoming Game and Fish office by Friday.
As reported earlier, local wildlife official Bud Stewart said all applications must be submitted this year, online, and the system will not take applications submitted after 5 on the deadline date. And, he reminds, this is the first year that licenses for buffalo hunting are being handled like the rest of the big game.
According to the Game and Fish website, Buffalo hunters will be required to submit the full licensing fee when applying, as is required for all other species. The fee for residents of the state is $263, for a female/calf wild bison license, and $413 for the “any” wild bison license.
For nonresidents, the cost is $1,022 for a female/calf wild bison license and $2,522 for an any wild bison license. For more information, go to wgfd.wyo.gov.
