Representative Mike Madden was the guest on Tuesday's Public Pulse program, and he spent the majority of the hour to let people in Sheridan and Johnson Counties know about the Property Tax Refund Program.
The program has been in existence for a number of years, but in the 2009 Legislative Session, Madden sponsored a bill to re-work the qualifications to apply.
In Johnson County, the amount is up to $483 for qualifying households. The program applies to households whose yearly income is not more than $40,268. The other qualification, Madden tells us.
Madden is quick to add that the program is not just for retirees and other senior citizens, but any working person whose income falls within the median amount.
The deadline to get your application in to the office in Cheyenne is June 7th. You can get application forms at the County Treasurer's Office or through the State Revenue Office website: http://revenue.state.wy.us/
