Officials with the Wyoming Game and Fish Sheridan Region Office have been receiving reports of dead trout in local streams and rivers. Game and Fish Information Specialist Warren Mischke says that the hot and dry summer is taking its toll on fish in the area.

Mischke says that for now, it's better to fish at higher elevations.

Mischke says that they've received reports of dead fish in waterways in the Moorcroft, Kaycee and Buffalo areas. He indicated that he'd been out to the Tongue River near Dayton and didn't witness any dead fish, although he added that doesn't mean that there aren't any in that area.
