Sheridan County Emergency Services were called to the Tongue River Canyon this weekend when some hikers ran into trouble.
Sheriff's deputy, Cpl. Allen Thompson, explains what happened.
Thompson said rain had made the rocks on trail too slippery for one hiker to navigate. He said the operation went smoothly due to the cooperation of the rescuers and rescuees.
Thompson also said checking the weather forecast and bringing a friend are two important measures of hiking safety.
