Two years ago the Dayton Town Council implemented a 5 percent rate increase for water, sewer and garbage that would go up every year on January 1st. The Council tonight will review resolution #343 that would raise garbage rates beyond the annual 5 percent. Dayton Mayor Bob Wood explains why they are having to raise rates.
Wood said that it would be several months before any raise to the garbage rates went into effect, as they will hold a series of public meetings on the issue. He indicated that rate raise would most likely be in April or May of this year.
