Dayton's town council will consider final reading of the town's floodplain ordinance, and discuss allowing residents to run water to keep water pipes from freezing, at a meeting Monday evening. The session will start at 7:30 in the Town Hall.
The council also will take another look at an ordinance prohibiting discharge of weapons in town limits. The ordinance was on the council's agenda last month but was tabled due to the absence of Councilor Bob Alley. Other council members wanted to delay discussion until the full council could be present. At last month's meeting, several town residents objected to provisions that would ban firing of pellet guns and arrows.
Other items on the agenda include a request for funds for the Tongue River Valley Joint Powers Board, which had its first meeting earlier this week (Nov. 26), and formal action on the resolution that appoints councilors and terms of office for the board.
Dayton Council members also have scheduled the mid-year review of the town's budget.
