Dayton Council Kills Raw Water Reg Rewrite

The Dayton town council killed the proposed Ordinance #381 on second reading Monday night, stating the re-working of codes concerning citizens' usage of raw water will be considered again after the winter. Dayton's Mayor, Bob Wood, said the bill had several issues of language that needed clarification.

The bill sought to clarify acceptable uses of the town's untreated water to ensure the town's pump was not overused and the city's financial resources for running the system were maintained. Wood said the council chose to table the issue because the issue has become a moot point for the next several months.

Wood said Dayton's raw water system will be turned on again in April of next year.
