Dayton Council Approves Policy To Snow Plow Ordinance

The Dayton Town Council adopted a policy to be attached to the Town's snow plow ordinance at their meeting Monday night. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there and has the story.

The policy changes the hours that residents need to have their vehicle off of the street by a few hours. The ordinance states that there be no parking on town streets between the hours of 3 am and 10 am. That end time has now been changed to 8 am.

Dayton Public Works Director Johann Nield explains why the change was made.

While the hours may be more relaxed with the new policy, the Town will revert back to the original hours of the ordinance during a heavy snow.

The policy that the Council adopted also states that no warning tickets will be issued if there is no snowfall, and that the Town will continue to work with residents with limited parking or who have guests from out of town.

The months that the snow plow ordinance are in affect will remain the same, they are November 1st through April 30th.
