The Wyoming Business Council retained the firm of TMNG Global a couple of years ago to conduct a survey of the state regarding the ability to attract data centers and other similar technology based businesses. Consultant Joe Sharkey with TMNG Global says that a lot has improved since his initial visit to Sheridan a year and a half ago.

During a presentation Tuesday in Sheridan, Sharkey stated that while not ready to market for large data centers, Sheridan is ready to go after some of the smaller ones.

Sharkey said that the smaller data centers typically employ 25 to 30 employees, and that before the Sheridan area can begin marketing for the larger data centers, there needs to be further expansion of the areas fiber and power capacity.
