The Daniels Fund has announced that 24 high school seniors from around Wyoming have received scholarships that will enable them to attend the college or university of their choice. Of the 24 scholars announced, three are from Sheridan High School; Jace Rader, Brittny Ross and Kelsie Tarver.

Daniels Fund Spokesperson Peter Droege said that all of the scholars have demonstrated strong character, leadership and a commitment to community service, which is what cable pioneer Bill Daniels sought when establishing the Daniels Scholarship program. Droege explains how the decision is made on who receives the scholarships.

Droege says that the Daniels Scholarship is not a full ride scholarship, but is a supplement to all other financial resources.

Bill Daniels established the Daniels Fund to provide grants and scholarships in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. His estate transferred to the Fund when he died in 2000, making it one of the largest foundations in the Rocky Mountain west. Daniels launched his first cable television system in Casper in 1953.
