54-year-old Curtis Scheckla was arraigned in 4th Judicial District Court Tuesday morning on one count of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Minor.
The Court alleges that on August 8th, 2010 in Sheridan County, Scheckla had sexual contact with a child less than 13 years old; in fact, the child was 5 years old. The charge is a Felony, punishable by up to twenty years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000 or both. If convicted, Scheckla would also have to register as a sex offender.
He plead “Not Guilty” to the charge, and is scheduled to go to trial on March 2nd and 3rd. A Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 am on February 3rd.
