Today marks the kickoff of one of the nation's largest American Indian festivals, and authorities are asking participants to keep fire safety in mind during the celebration. The annual Crow Fair draws thousands to the Crow Agency to celebrate, but due to recent rampant fires in the area, extra measures will be enforced this year. Information officer for the Bureau of Indian Affairs Fire Management, John Kohn.
Gas stoves are approved for use with close supervision. Kohn also encourages everyone to have a plan in place in case of emergency, but to be sure to enjoy the festivities, as it looks like another busy year.
The Crow Fair will last through the weekend. Each year, the festival draws thousands.
