A media release from the Wyoming Department of Education and State Superintendent Cindy Hill indicates that a Sheridan education administrator will head the newly formed Learning Initiative Advisory Board.
When Ms. Hill visited Sheridan last week, she told us.
The release says the first focus of these learning initiatives is literacy, followed immediately by a focus on numeracy and then critical thinking. Superintendent Dougherty comments on the board's goals.
Dougherty says that District 2 teachers have “hit it out of the park” and the students' achievements are “phenomenal” because of what the teachers in the district have done.
The Learning Initiative Advisory Board will meet several times a year, he says.
Dougherty adds that his priority is to make professional development around reading the first priority of the Learning Initiatives Advisory Board.
The first meeting of the board has not yet been set.
