Susan Thomas, wife of the late U.S. Senator Craig Thomas of Wyoming, paid a visit to Sheridan Media Wednesday morning to tell us about the Craig and Susan Thomas Foundation and the work she is doing in his honor. She explains.
The Craig and Susan Thomas Foundation is more than just financial aid. Mrs. Thomas describes what she terms “three prongs of the milking stool.”
Of course, she says, they can't do it alone, and she travels to communities around the state to garner financial support for the foundation and to spread the word to students that help is there for them, even if they have struggled learning and might not be eligible for mainstream scholarships.
To say Mrs. Thomas has a passionate heart for at-risk learners would be an understatement. She talks about the eighteen years she gave to that population while her husband served in the U.S. Senate.
A significant aspect of their foundation is that she is an active participant, not only in raising funds, but in personally mentoring students.
