The State Liquor Commission has provided four ID scanners for use in Sheridan County, and they will be used by the Sheridan Police Department at the upcoming street dance. Community Prevention Specialist with the Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention, Thom Gabrukiewicz, explains.

He says Gillette offered up their special events toolkit specifically for use at the street dance.

Gabrukiewicz says with these kits, local authorities and the Wyoming Prevention Management Organization are trying to stop underage drinking and ensure adults who drink do it responsibly.

He says Sheridan County's events kit contains $2,000 worth of material. Anybody holding a community event where alcohol will be served, and anybody whose servers complete server training with local authorities, may borrow the kit to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors.
