County Signs Mikesell-Potts Maintenance Agreement

County Signs Mikesell-Potts Maintenance Agreement

The Johnson County Commissioners have approved chairman Delbert Eitel to sign the amended agreement with the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission for the county to provide maintenance and services for the boat ramps and restrooms at the Mikesell-Potts Recreation Area at Lake DeSmet.

The contract has been in place for a number of years, with the Game & Fish paying the county $3,000 annually for the services and maintenance provided.

This year's contract had some wording in it that County Deputy Attorney Barry Crago wanted changed to protect the
county's interests.

The county's responsibilities include cleaning trash in the recreation area and along roads; cleaning restrooms and stocking with toilet tissue; mowing weeds within 50 feet of the restrooms; checking for damage to and reporting such damage to the Game & Fish; and installing, maintaining and removing the three Game & Fish-owned boat docks at Lake DeSmet.

The changes were made to the document and the commission chair signed the contract for 2014.
