Johnson County has entered into a contract with Rocky Mountain Fire Systems to provide maintenance on the alarm systems at the Judicial and Justice Center buildings for the next year.
This contract is the first one entered into, due to the systems previously being under warranty through the building's contractor.
The annual agreement requires Rocky Mountain to test and replace parts as necessary and for them to file required paperwork with the State Fire Marshal.
The cost for the services will be $896 annually for the Justice Center, and $718 annually for the Judicial Center, totaling $1,614.
According to discussions at the meeting, maintenance costs for the Justice Center are shared via agreement between the city and county based on the percentage of occupancy of the building.
Eighty-two percent of those costs will be paid by the county and the city will pay 18%.
The county pays 100% of maintenance costs in the Judicial Center.
