The Sheridan County Planning and Zoning Commission approved a resolution Wednesday night that establishes a Groundwater Protection Area for Sheridan County. The protection area outlines the class five high vulnerability areas, which are the most prevalent south and southwest of Sheridan in the Little Goose Valley.
County Planner Mark Reid explains how this will change future development throughout much of Sheridan County.
Reid says that establishing the Groundwater Protection Area is just the first step in taking care of the class five high vulnerability areas.
The resolution will now go before the Sheridan County Commissioners at their first meeting in December.
