The fire ban in Sheridan County has been lifted, as of Saturday. Notice was provided by county administrators.
The recommendation comes from the Sheridan County Fire Warden and fire chiefs of the rural fire protection districts. This means burning will be allowed on land governed by the county.
As always, fire officials encourage the public to practice sound safety measures when burning. That includes notifying the Sheridan dispatch center before burning to prevent unnecessary call-outs for volunteer fire fighters and not burning on red-flag warning days or days when high winds are expected.
The dispatch number is 672-2413.
