Sheridan County's incumbent commissioners edged out challenger Dennis Fox in Tuesday's primary elections.
Terry Cram, Steve Maier and Bob Rolston advance to the general elections in November, running on the Republican ticket. No Democrats officially filed for the commissioners race, but voters wrote in 60 names on ballots.
County Election Clerk Brenda Kekich said write-in results will be counted during the election canvas on Friday. Up to three Democratic write-ins could become official candidates in November.
Maier talked about the significance of Tuesday's election unless write-in candidates are advanced on the Democratic ballot.
Cram was pleased to have the vote of confidence from county residents.
Rolston also believes the vote represents the people's confidence in the current commission.
He added the commissioners' representation has included fiscal responsibility in an economy that has been on a downturn.
Cram and Rolston each received more than 3,000 votes Tuesday, and Maier received just under 3,000. Challenger Dennis Fox received just over 2,300 votes.
