The Sheridan County Commissioners Tuesday rejected the lone bid of $193,550.00 from ICM to rehabilitate the South Access Road at the Sheridan County Airport. Commissioner Bob Rolston says the project will be rolled over to next year's budget.
The bid from ICM came in at almost $70,000 over the engineers estimate for the project. The Commissioners did award the bid for the rehabilitation of taxiway B at the Airport to Knife River Corp. in the amount of $1.7 million. Bids for the taxiway project were actually opened in May of this year, but due to uncertainty of FAA funding at that time, the bid was not awarded until now.
Airport Manager John Stopka stated that the FAA has started the process of issuing the grant certificate for this portion of the project and that they issued a letter to the County to move forward with the project and award the bid.
Commissioners also approved several grant applications with the state for various upcoming projects. The projects include upgrades to Bird Farm Road; lighting upgrades in the historic courthouse and work on East Ridge Road.
