Johnson County's Commissioners dealt with a number of smaller items on the agenda from their last meeting.
After some discussion they re-approved Arthur "Coog" Myers and approved Dan Rogers to the Johnson County Solid Waste District Board on a vote of 2-1 with Commissioner John Gibbs voting against.
The commissioners had discussed that hey had been contacted by current board members asking that they not appoint Rogers to the board but to re-appoint the two members seeking to serve on the board again.
Commissioner Gibbs felt like he should follow the wishes of the board and vote for the two re-appointments.
Commissioner Jim Hicks understood the reasoning, but his stance was that new blood on these appointed board is, in his opinion, good for them.
With the vote tied, chair Delbert Eitel voted for the change on the Solid Waste Board.
The commissioners briefly touched on the Johnson County Youth Camp, saying the board would like to meet with them. They set a time aside for this week to discuss matters.
