At their last meeting, the Johnson County Commissioners approved and signed a “Contract For Services” between themselves and the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and provided $5,000 to the chamber to help with costs associated with the upcoming Longmire Days celebration.
They also discussed and approved a cooperative agreement between the Wyoming Department of Family Services and the Clerk of District Court.
Due to the recent retirement of county employee Rick Durfee, the county was in need of a new Flood Plain Manager. After some discussion, the commissioners chose Marilyn Connolly to fill the position.
Because of the abolishment of the Lake DeSmet Counties' Coalition (LDCC) due to Johnson County becoming the sole owner of the lake with the lease of water rights by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, money was left in an account once belonging to the LDCC.
The commissioners voted to close that account and put the roughly $117,000 into the county's General Fund.
