The Sheridan Country Club has boasted a 9-hole golf course for nearly 90 years. Since the 1960’s, Country Club members have had visions of expansion. Country Club President Chuck Hutton.
Construction is underway on 9 brand new holes for the club. Developers feel it’s a win-win situation for everyone involved; the club will get an affordable new nine holes, the developer will do the work, and they will have lots to sell with “golf course frontage.” Tim Barnes is a past president of the Country Club.
Completion of the project required the efforts of several different groups in these economically distressed times. Both Hutton and Barnes feel this was the best time to complete the expansion, and the club has no plans to raise fees to cover the project.
The Sheridan Country Club opened in 1920, and with their construction timeline, it’s possible that part of the 90th anniversary celebration could include the first round of golf played on 18 different holes at the club.
