The Johnson County Sheriff's Office has alerted the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce that several counterfeit $20 bills have been found in the area. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.
While the Buffalo Chamber at this time has not heard of any attempts of the fake bills being passed to local businesses, Chamber Director Angela Jarvis says that with the holiday season in full swing, businesses need to be mindful of the bogus money.
The alert from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office states that the actual bill looks and feels just like a legal twenty, but it does not have the embedded ribbon or the raised lower "20" corner.
