The City of Sheridan wrapped up their first week of budget work sessions Friday with a look at the Human Resources department. HR Director Heather Doke said that while employees will see an increase in their health insurance premiums for the upcoming fiscal year, its much smaller than what they had anticipated.
Earlier this week the City announced that they are once again offering voluntary buyouts to their employees in hopes of trimming the $1.6 million projected deficit. Doke says that as of Friday afternoon there has been only one person that has taken the buyout.
Doke also stated to the City Council that this will be the 3rd year that employees will not receive scale or merit wage increases.
