A noon work session by the Sheridan City Council Monday focused on the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. Chamber Executive Director Dixie Johnson updated the Council on some of the highlights from 2011 and their plans for 2012.
During the presentation, Johnson talked about one aspect of the Chamber that gives back to the local economy, that being Chamber Bucks.
Johnson stated that of that $33,000 purchased in Chamber Bucks, over $17,000 were purchased between Thanksgiving and the end of the year.
Johnson also talked a bit about an upcoming strategic planning session by the Chamber Board members that will be held in early February.
Johnson said that since the Board's strategic planning session will take place in Sheridan February 3rd and 4th, they invite any Chamber members or businesses to offer their ideas and suggestions to the Chamber prior to the strategic planning session.
