A replacement for Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey, who's accepted a state senate appointment, will be chosen during a meeting today at city hall.

The meeting will be held from noon to 1, in the council chambers, which is on the third floor of the building on Grinnell Plaza.

Kinskey resigned as mayor after accepting the appointment as a state senator to fill out the term left open by the death of Senator John Schiffer who died last month. Schiffer represented District 22, which covers Johnson County and portions of Sheridan County.

In a recent interview, City Clerk/Interim Treasurer Scott Badley said the next mayor will be chosen by the council and must be a current member of the council.
