At last week's meeting, the Buffalo City Council awarded the contract for the Crazy Woman Square Re-development Project to Fletcher Construction on the recommendation of City Planner Zach Montgomery.
The city advertised for bids on the project and had the bid opening April 24. The lowest bid came from Fletcher Construction for a total amount of $674,995.
Materials testing and inspection work will be handled by Nelson Engineering for $7,800.
Montgomery explained the recommendation to the council.
The work, once the contract is signed, is scheduled to begin along with the mural and sculpture that will be done on the Hitching Post building at the square.
The Artist Agreement and Sculpture Agreement are currently being executed, Montgomery said, so work can begin on all aspects of the square re-development project on June 1st.
