The Sheridan City Council Monday night approved a request to hire a part-time paid employee for the Sheridan Public Arts Committee. City Councilman Robert Webster says that Sheridan Public Arts has come a long way since its inception in the summer of 2000.

The funding request that was approved by the Council is for $12,000 a year for the next two fiscal years. Much of the duties of the Sheridan Public Arts project coordinator will be similar to what long time Public Arts Chair Fachon Wilson did prior to her retirement.
